How do teen categories work?
Suvi enables parents to better control where their teenager can spend their funds. Teen accounts come with 5 predefined categories, including Pay Friends, Restaurants, Gas Stations, ATMs, and Toys & Games. These categories are based on the mcc codes as defined by the Networks and merchants.
A parent can add additional stores. Any funds not allocated to one of these categories or stores become part of the Spend Anywhere category.
For these categories or stores, teens are only able to spend funds available from the respective categories/stores and the Spend Anywhere category. If they try to spend more than the funds available, the transaction will be denied. Funds are first deducted from specific categories or stores and then from Spend Anywhere.
For a transaction that does not involve a specific category or store, teens can spend the maximum amount available in Spend Anywhere.
